Gwel an Porth is a beautiful two-bedroomed double-fronted town house, right on the Esplanade in the busy harbour town of Fowey. The moment we entered this property, we absolutely loved it.
Furnished as if right out of the pages of Homes and Gardens, the house is perfect for couples holidaying together, or for a romantic getaway, as cosy evenings are guaranteed.
Walk in from the Esplanade into a hallway on the ground floor and you’ll find two comfortable bedrooms, one with a king-size bed and wonderful river views, the other a cosy double room that looks onto the Esplanade. The bathroom is a wet room with a walk-in shower and is white and modern.
Upstairs, the combined living, dining and kitchen space has a loft-style open plan feel, with high beamed ceilings and red brick walls. Here you have more wonderful views of the boat-filled estuary from the French doors and small rooftop balcony with patio table and chairs. It’s perfect for sitting with coffee in the morning watching the fishing boats leave, and then for a glass of fizzy in the late afternoon after spending the day on Readymoney Cove or a refreshing cliff top walk to Lantic Bay or Polkerris and back.
The kitchen is fully equipped and contemporary with granite worktops, while the dining area has ample room with table and five chairs.
Only minutes from the shops, restaurants and galleries in Fowey, and just a short stroll away from Readymoney Cove, Gwel an Porth is perfect to enjoy everything Fowey has to offer.
