Secret Garden Cottage nestles in the heart of Fowey, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Fore Street in the quiet pedestrian walkway of Bull Hill, a minute’s walk from shops, restaurants and pubs.
This lovely characterful cottage is decorated in Farrow & Ball colours and has full central heating.
The front door opens to a light and airy living space.
To the left is a well equipped, farmhouse style kitchen with oak dining table and four chairs. A French window opens onto a wooden balcony overlooking rooftops to the river, with bistro table and chairs, which provides the perfect place to sit and enjoy a morning coffee, or just while away the time reading a book.
On the right, the comfortable lounge is furnished with three and two seater sofas.
The exposed stone fireplace houses a traditional Cornish range (not in use) with heavy oak mantle, giving an elegant feel to this delightful cottage.
A spiral staircase leads down to the bedrooms and shower room. The staircase is narrow but there is a hatch to allow access for any large items of luggage.
Both bedrooms, one with king size bed and one with double bed, are fully carpeted, with fitted wardrobes and oak furniture.
Hidden behind a high stone wall across the lane is a private garden.
Flowers, vines, fruit trees and spring bulbs keep this lovely garden changing through the seasons.
Steps lead up to terraces with fine views of the estuary, where one can sunbathe, snooze in the shade, or dine al fresco.
Guests are welcome to make use of the garden, but should be aware that steps may be uneven and can be hazardous when wet, so please enjoy at your own risk.
We would recommend this cottage for two couples, one couple who wish to enjoy some privacy and space, or one couple with an older child.
